Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a youth for possessing 106 gold bars measuring 12.500kg from Sharsha border.

The arrestee is identified as Saju Ahmed, 19, son of late Abdul Salam, hailing from Baro Kabilpur village of Chowgacha upazila.

Based on intelligence report, BGB men conducted a raid, arresting the youth and recovering the gold from Bangda point of Kashipur border under Sharsha upazila at 3pm on Tuesday.

Lt ColShahed Minhaj Siddiqui, commander of 49 BGB, confirmed the arrest and recovery of gold worth Tk 10,00,10,000.

Proceeding to hand over the arrestee to local police station and filing of a case was in motion.
